Our first dance recital

Does anyone remember their first dance recital?  I have some vague memories of mine but the picture that came from that day is one of my favorites! (I was going to upload it but alas, it is not easily found!)

Here is the budding ballerina pre-recital:
Some of her tricky dance moves:

And finally, post-dance with our wonderful teacher, Heidi.  (She really has the patience of Job.)

Her First Date

Alora had her first date last night.
She attended the Daddy Daughter Grand Princess Ball at our gym.
Isn't she beautiful???
Her date was very patient in standing in long lines for butterfly balloon art and Disney Princess Signatures. His feet were pretty sore at the end of the night!

Thanks Prince Charming!!

After a long Hiatus

I'm back! I've been such a scrooge about posting since we have been sans pictures. A family blog should never be without photos!! So, we went and purchased a new camera this week (finally!!!) and are back in business!!

But before I get to the fabulous pictures I have been taking this week ( I have totally gone picture crazy since I have been missing my camera these past two months!) let me post about the wonderful and fantastic Jessica Hughes!! I am in LOVE with her and her work! Look at the fantastic photographs she took of my children:
BTW: Baby Logan is present in these photos, too. I did not go out and find a three month old. I'm done in that area!!

Hard times as a girl

kkjjhsjhdghfjjjghhrjiiofhfghfhyuruu

I say Ouch and cried. (Alora had her ears pierced today!!! She is sporting purple hearts. She was a very brave young lass and only cried a little bit. She also has Tinkerbell and Dora earrings that she is excited to be able to wear in four to six weeks.)

Bedtime Stories

Tomorrow night we are heading down to Mt. Timpanogus Park for some Bedtime Stories during the Timpanogus Story Telling Festival! I can hardly wait!!! I have always wanted to go, so here is a huge shout out to Cherish Bound for making that happen. (I have another post about cherish bound in the works...)

Bedtime stories are my fave!!

As a tween, I would lie in my bed and think of the most tragic story. Everyone always died but me. I would cry so much that my pillow was soaked. The story of Timpanogus was always one that I loved to hear as well. I hope I hear that one at the festival ~wink~wink!

Alora now loves stories.
Here is one from her:
"Once upon a time there was a little girl; the mom gave her a fruit snack. The end."

She's got it!! I think I'll sign her up next year!

Falling asleep while creating art

Moving from the table to a more comfy location:

Grayson and Aiden's plan to wake me up. Grayson pulled the vacuum out and plugged it in for Aiden to play with. Mom was fine with it since I will probably be awake until 11 p.m. tonight.

Unfulfilled Dream

I was not allowed to by ice cream from the ice cream truck.
It was a big No No.
WHY?
(Mom, if you read this, maybe you can answer it.)
High way robbery, maybe?
Today I let Buddy buy ice cream from the ice cream truck.
It was EXCITING.

(Baby is irritated that she has to share the lens with Buddy. Rude.)

Flashback Wednesday

Feeling lazy right now.

You get what I have on my computer. And that's not much.

Alora, November 2008.

In all her Toddler Dressing Glory.

She loves putting hats on. And today she wore her snow boots with shorts.
Why? Because she is a rock star. (She rocks it out with the broom!)

Do you want to hear a sad story?

Alora had to wear a dress to church.

I told you it was sad.

Kids...

  • On the way to the Jazz game, I informed Grayson and Alora that we would be in a large building with many people and that it was incredibly important to hold hands and stay with Mom and Dan. We picked up Dan from work and headed off. After a few minutes, Dan started saying, "Now, guys, we are going to a place where there will be lots of people." At this point, Grayson quickly interjects (with as much attitude as a 4 year old can have!) , "We know Dad. Mom all ready told us." Trying not to laugh Dan asked, "What did Mom tell you?" "Hold hands, stay together, and don't get lost. We know it."
  • At the game I was going picture crazy! It was our first Jazz game as a family (minus one). As Alora was eating I tried to take a few pictures but she kept moving. Finally she said, "Not now, Mom!! I am trying to eat." (Yes, that picture in the post below is the picture I got when she said it. See the attitude???)
  • Tonight Grayson put his arms on the inside of the door frame, jumped and kicked his hiney. He then told me, "I am doing my stretchers, Mom. I have to do these every day." I asked, "Why, what will happen if you do these everyday?" "I will die."
  • Today I was hanging pictures. Alora found our box of nails and started playing with them. All of a sudden she said, "Whoa! Check it out. What do we have here?"

Gotta love 'em!

Excitment

I decided I should start packing since we have to be out in three weeks.
Here are the results:
I asked Grayson to take two boxes to his room. I walked upstairs into our room and found:

All our garments and socks were packed for us. Sweet!

Here were the boxes in Grayson's room. Yes, that is his pillow. Underneath are his blankets.

His packing style: throw it all in until it starts falling out!

Alora's packing style: Sit on it to pack it in!

Flashback Wed.

I'm in a bad mood today so you're stuck with what I have saved on this computer...and it isn't much!

This is Alora at one of my many meetings for youth conference circa May 2008. I took tons of stickers to entertain so I could preside. It worked for a minute!

Cold Sores

The reason I have three cold sores this week: (Grayson and scissors. Not good.)

After 100 dollars at Cookie Cutters (I had to buy hats and accessories to attempt to help!)
