A Shopping I Will Go!

Here is my shopping list for the week.  Grayson was very helpful in letting me know what we need.

Milk and grapes were the first on the list (that was what was cut off).
That was followed by cheese, mushrooms, turkey meat, hamburgers, pickles, catsup, mac and cheese, pop (the cereal if you're wondering), and popcorn.
What can I say?  We eat healthy around here!!  ")

Ahhh, the end of the year awards!  Grayson received his Fantastic Falcon today.  Go Bud!
(There are a few random pics trying to keep some other kiddos entertained until the assembly started...)

New Year's Resolution

Grayson decided to run away today.

It is not his first attempt (I am a VERY mean mom!!)

But, I realized that I REALLY wanted a picture of this!

Which lead me to make My New Year's Resolution:

I promise I will be more faithful in documenting the emotional turmoil my children experience in their daily lives.

Here we go!!

I was kind enough to remind him to take his coat. He apparently did not need shoes. I told him next time he might want to remember those, too.

I was going to post a video of Grayson describing his horrific ordeal of having the worst mother in the world but it has been uploading since 3:30 this afternoon. It is now 9:45 and I am officially throwing in the towell.

Grayson's post

It's about pirates.

The pirates were hunting for a treasure chest. And they found a little sparkling crown and they put it on and then something just happened.

They carried it on their ships.

That's it.

( I didn't have anything today. Thank goodness for kids who like the spotlight!)

Frog on a Log

Yesterday I picked up some little men from school.

One had a piece of candy and the other did not.

The candyless one confessed he had his frog on the log.

"Frog on the Log?" I ask (Doesn't that sound like a good thing, BTW?)

"Yes, Mom. I talked today."

The other little man expounded that it was more than talking. It was funny noises, too.

Ahhhhh. It all makes sense now. My son is just like me. I think we will have a long 12 years of this.

Falling asleep while creating art

Moving from the table to a more comfy location:

Grayson and Aiden's plan to wake me up. Grayson pulled the vacuum out and plugged it in for Aiden to play with. Mom was fine with it since I will probably be awake until 11 p.m. tonight.

Sick Boy

I have been feeling sick this weekend.

Grayson threw up in the middle of the night last night.

Despite these sad facts, I took the kiddos to the Kindergarten playground at Grayson's elementary.

We were there for one minute.

I look over at Grayson and he is throwing up on the mat.

Poor boy.

Lesson from Amber: Do not take your child who threw up last night to the park. He just might still be feeling sick.

Unfulfilled Dream

I was not allowed to by ice cream from the ice cream truck.
It was a big No No.
WHY?
(Mom, if you read this, maybe you can answer it.)
High way robbery, maybe?
Today I let Buddy buy ice cream from the ice cream truck.
It was EXCITING.

(Baby is irritated that she has to share the lens with Buddy. Rude.)

Grrrrr

So, I turned on my camera today to see what I haven't posted about. This is what I found:

Hmmmmmm. I don't believe I took these.

OOPS!

Buckaroo Buddy isn't breathing so well lately. It's been going on for about three weeks, which honestly, is typical here.
But I feel bad for him.
Not breathing stinks.
So I do some research were I find:
A big no-no is indoor plants.

Does anyone want two? They are cute! They were gifts from Aiden's birth. I would love for them to move to a new home. They are hearty and do not require much love and attention. Which is why I am sad to see them go.

I must really love my kid.

Riddle me this

So, here is a bit of a riddle that Grayson was telling me yesterday. Let's see if you can pick it up before I did!

Clues:
1. Grayson threw up in the middle of the night two nights ago.
2. "Mom, my arms are cold." (I told him to put a jacket on.)
3. He took a nap.
4. He didn't want candy first thing in the morning because he was worried that he might throw up again.
5. He had two accidents. (He peed on the couch two nights ago and on his bed last night)
6. "Mom, I'm too tired to go any more." (When we had only been on a bike ride for 10 minutes)

So, I totally didn't figure this out until 10:00 p.m. last night when I noticed he was ON FIRE!!!
He had a fever of 102 degrees. He is achy this morning. I think he has the flu.
Poor kids have a slow mother.

Wholesome Conversation

Here is a conversation I had with Grayson yesterday.

Mom: Grayson, please come make your bed.
Grayson: I all ready did with blankets downstairs!
Mom: That's fantastic but you need to make the bed in your room, too.
Grayson walks upstairs into his room (Mom is in her room ironing).
Grayson (under his breath): Holy S---.
Mom, walks quickly into Grayson's room, asking standard Mom question #1.
Mom: What did you just say?
Grayson: S---.
Mom asks standard Mom question #2.
Mom: Where did you hear that?
Grayson: In my ears!
I feel a need to insert a line or two regarding the language my children hear. I have been known to have a sailor mouth. BUT I have worked hard on it and Alora has NEVER been known to say a naughty word. It has been a good year since Grayson has heard me say that sentence enhancer (as Patrick on Spongebob calls it).

Kids...

  • On the way to the Jazz game, I informed Grayson and Alora that we would be in a large building with many people and that it was incredibly important to hold hands and stay with Mom and Dan. We picked up Dan from work and headed off. After a few minutes, Dan started saying, "Now, guys, we are going to a place where there will be lots of people." At this point, Grayson quickly interjects (with as much attitude as a 4 year old can have!) , "We know Dad. Mom all ready told us." Trying not to laugh Dan asked, "What did Mom tell you?" "Hold hands, stay together, and don't get lost. We know it."
  • At the game I was going picture crazy! It was our first Jazz game as a family (minus one). As Alora was eating I tried to take a few pictures but she kept moving. Finally she said, "Not now, Mom!! I am trying to eat." (Yes, that picture in the post below is the picture I got when she said it. See the attitude???)
  • Tonight Grayson put his arms on the inside of the door frame, jumped and kicked his hiney. He then told me, "I am doing my stretchers, Mom. I have to do these every day." I asked, "Why, what will happen if you do these everyday?" "I will die."
  • Today I was hanging pictures. Alora found our box of nails and started playing with them. All of a sudden she said, "Whoa! Check it out. What do we have here?"

Gotta love 'em!

Walking with Dinosaurs

Mom and Me time is more than fun. It is essential. Here is a post from Grayson's perspective.

Mom and Me time watching dinosaurs is a dream come true.

They had really big trucks with these pictures on them. We took pictures in front of them.

Sometimes Mom can be fun. We are scary dinosaurs here. I am excited to see them. We walked up big stairs to get to the top floor. Now we have to find our seats. We bought a big, big pretzel and some rootbeer. This is going to be fun.

These are big dinosaurs. They are nice dinosaurs. Good dinosaurs are called herbivores.

These are two boy dinosaurs fighting. They are Torosaurs, NOT Triceratops.

I didn't know why there was a bone under the dinosaurs. Mom said there was a person inside that was driving the dinosaurs. I don't think she knows that the dinosaurs are real.

See, T-Rex's can be nice. She loves her baby.

Not only did we have so much fun, Mom also bought me this cool shirt. It is of Utah Raptors. It is my favorite! We bought one for Alora, too. If it comes again, Mom told Dad that she would make him buy the REALLY good seats for ALL of us!

Excitment

I decided I should start packing since we have to be out in three weeks.
Here are the results:
I asked Grayson to take two boxes to his room. I walked upstairs into our room and found:

All our garments and socks were packed for us. Sweet!

Here were the boxes in Grayson's room. Yes, that is his pillow. Underneath are his blankets.

His packing style: throw it all in until it starts falling out!

Alora's packing style: Sit on it to pack it in!

CTR

The simple joys of being four years old.
Grayson came home from church super excited.
It was a new year of classes.
He received his first CTR ring and very own Book of Mormon.
He was bursting with pride!
What more could a boy want in life?
Do you remember your first CTR ring? I do....

He loves his "scripture power book."

He longs to be an adult and is thrilled that this day brings him nearer that goal.
Congratulations to my CTR A boy!

Flashback Wednesday

I LOVE flashbacks! Therefore, I will start flashback Wednesdays (at least when I remember...).
Here is my flashback for today:

This is Grayson and his little buddy, Savannah Sell on Feb. 21, 2007. They are 2 1/2 years old. Cute! Though I must say I was a bit ashamed at how aggressive Grayson becomes at the end. Aye Carumba! What are his parents teaching him?????

Adventures of Pon

Who was your imaginary friend? Mine (since I have zero creativity) was Scooby Doo. He, Shaggy, my brother (Bryan), and I were always getting into crazy capers! It is fun to watch Grayson with his new buddy, Pon.
At first I thought Pon was from school, he was always talked about in such a way that I never thought he was invisible! Sure enough, no Pon at Montessori! I have to admit, I enjoy Pon. He is never naughty (thank goodness for that!) and very responsible. Whenever I ask where Pon is, he is usually at work.
Pon has been in a multiple of car accidents, poor guy. These often occur after one of two things happen: 1. We drive by an accident or 2. Grayson is not sitting appropriately in his car seat and we have a safety discussion.
Well, last night after Grayson and I spent a few hours at a baptism, Grayson began telling me about how Pon was fired. Dan and I are assuming that he meant caught on fire as he continued telling me about how hurt he was from the fire. Boys. Don't fret, however, because Pon is just fine. The police and firefighters came and helped Pon. Lesson to be learned: don't light imaginary matches!
****Sidenote: One thing I have been wondering is how to even spell Pon. It's not like I can ask him. Why couldn't Grayson create a friend with an easier name to spell? I mean it can go: Pon, Pawn, Paun....etc. Sheesh.****
I sure love watching him use his imagination and come up with such great stories about Pon. This is the part of childhood I wish would continue forever!

Cold Sores

The reason I have three cold sores this week: (Grayson and scissors. Not good.)

After 100 dollars at Cookie Cutters (I had to buy hats and accessories to attempt to help!)
