The evidence: Dum dum dum

One more posting for today to catch me up to speed.

So, I have talked a lot about the books I have read recently. When I read a good book, I become totally absorbed! It takes all my effort to put the book down and do something productive! Well, I have recently been reading The Host by Stephanie Myers (same author of the Twilight Series...see the problem?) and during one of my reading moments, the children seemed to be having a lot of fun. I put the book down and headed for the noise, in the bathroom of course (what is it with kids playing in bathrooms?????). Well, this is what I found. And luckily for them it wipes right off! Boy do I love porcelain!
Aesop's Moral: Mom's shouldn't read books while their children are awake!

More pictures!

Here he is at 2 weeks! We went to the doctor on Wednesday and he is growing well...can you tell? He is now 9 pounds and 13 ounces and 22 1/2 inches long. The kid likes to eat! We are still doing well. Grayson and Alora are still being great older siblings. Alora was very concerned the day she saw Aiden's picture that I posted with him being on the scale. She sobbed for 45 minutes because she thought he had been hurt. We had to explain that the blood was not because he was hurt but because he was dirty and the nurses hadn't cleaned him up yet. She even woke up that night with nightmares screaming for "Baby Aiden be okay!!" It was so sweet! Grayson really ignores him most of the time but once in a while he will notice him. Yesterday he looked at Aiden (who was awake) and said, "Look! His eyes are open. They work!" It has been fun so far.....I am a bit nervous that things are going to get harder soon. Hope for me that they continue the way they are!

When Dad is in charge

Dan has been so wonderful this week. I feel great and it is mostly due to him being such a supportive husband. He has spent his time keeping Grayson and Alora entertained so I can focus on Aiden and myself. Didn't I mention last night that I read the entire Twilight series in the past week and a half??? I am very grateful for him!

It is fun to watch the difference between moms and dads, though. Here are some highlights....

  • Alora's time out is always so much sadder when it comes from Dad. She is Daddy's little girl and it hits her hard when he punishes her. When I punish her...se la vi! She could care less.

  • Breakfast time is chocolate chip waffles with low fat frozen yogurt! That is a million times better than Life Cereal. Go Dad!

  • Grayson gets to golf. What is better than that?

It's SO late!

Okay, it really isn't terribly late, only 10:45 as I write this. I don't have a lot to say but I am waiting for Aiden to wake up so I can feed him so I can sleep. Even though I knew I would be tired, I still forgot exactly how tired I would be! I sure miss my sleep! Here are some more pictures of Aiden. Wow. I am feeling a bit loopy now, sorry that you all have to read my mindless wanderings!
Oh, one last tangental thought. I haven't been blogging because I have been reading the Twilight series. Poor Dan has watched the children while I read and nursed and read and nursed and read and nursed. I have to say I am glad I am done reading them because my neck really hurts! It was a fun story to get obsessed with!

All done!

Yes, indeedee. My bun in the oven has finished baking and he is all done! And boy was he a large loaf! Aiden Wells Woodward was born on Wed. August 13, 2008 at 10:12 a.m. after 2 hours of painless labor! I sure love those epidurals! He was 9 lbs and 3 oz and was 21 inches long. He has a very strong neck and amazed all the nurses by trying to crawl within his first few minutes here on earth!
I have to admit that I was shocked when I first saw Aiden. He had very little hair and it is red! Both Alora and Grayson (as you can see below) had heads full of black hair. It's a good thing that half my dad's family are redheaded otherwise I would have asked who swapped my baby!
We came home today and we are both doing well. I just have to say how much I hate breastfeeding. Boy it sucks. Oh well. It will only last a few months.
Enjoy the pics!

Bein' Commfy

Well, Aiden is mighty comfortable right now. Just thought I'd let everyone know that he is officially not working on coming at all!!! I am planning on attending my next doctor appointment next Tuesday (I doubt anything will happen before then...). Maybe we'll have an induction scheduled then. We'll keep everyone posted!

Pictures

Waiting for Aiden to come has made me want to review what we all looked like in the beginning! Here are some of my favorite pictures of all of us. Please enjoy the lovely teen pics of Dan and I!

Lovely Alora!
Goofy Grayson
Here we are!

Halloween

Okay, so I just typed this post and it totally didn't work so now I have to do it again, which isn't fun. This is the condensed version!
I have all ready purchased Halloween costumes for the children. I am so excited! Grayson is totally getting into Halloween this year. He looked at several costumes and carefully picked out Darth. He loves Star Wars and is thrilled that I am letting him be Darth (I had put a ban on watching Star Wars since he is little! I have recently lifted the ban. Yeah for Grayson!). Alora was dead set on being Dee Dee Doodle. Not my fave but if it floats her boat! And Aiden will be a snuggly little dragon. Fun, fun! I can't wait to go get Halloween pictures!
