Wholesome Conversation

Here is a conversation I had with Grayson yesterday.

Mom: Grayson, please come make your bed.
Grayson: I all ready did with blankets downstairs!
Mom: That's fantastic but you need to make the bed in your room, too.
Grayson walks upstairs into his room (Mom is in her room ironing).
Grayson (under his breath): Holy S---.
Mom, walks quickly into Grayson's room, asking standard Mom question #1.
Mom: What did you just say?
Grayson: S---.
Mom asks standard Mom question #2.
Mom: Where did you hear that?
Grayson: In my ears!
I feel a need to insert a line or two regarding the language my children hear. I have been known to have a sailor mouth. BUT I have worked hard on it and Alora has NEVER been known to say a naughty word. It has been a good year since Grayson has heard me say that sentence enhancer (as Patrick on Spongebob calls it).

And thought I looked SEXY.

Apparently I was wrong.
I looked prego.
Lesson: don't try to be sexy when you are frumpy!!!

Pay It Forward Friday

Today is simple. But, that is the most heartwarming service!
Today is the day before my little sister's wedding.
Everyone is cooking or cleaning or buying photos.
I did not.
I bought Cafe Rio.
Is any service greater than yummy lunch for those hard at work????

Pay It Forward

So, in an effort to be less self centered, I am going to start a Pay It Forward Friday! Yay!!
I don't know if you noticed, today is not Friday, but I am just so stinkin' excited that I'm going to start today!

This week's friendly act revolves around my little buddy, Savannah. Grayson and Alora ADORE Savannah. You have probably seen some pics of Van scattered around my blog. Anyho....she has been entered in a contest to win a new playyard! Check out her awesome skills on the following link and vote for her on March 20th! (That is Friday!) She is contestant #20. Seriously, check it out. She has some mad skillz!

Lessons From Amber

Today you might expect to see a variety of posts regarding green, shamrocks, boys named Patrick, etc. Not here. Not today. I feel there is a lesson of great value that needs to be shared instead.
I am talking about fire hazards.
Did you know that if you are cooking green eggs with your big bulky robe on, you are bound to catch on fire? I STONGLY suggest that all cooking of green eggs be done in the nude. This will prevent you from screaming, "I'm on fire!" at 7:50 a.m.
Also, if you do happen to catch on fire cooking those green eggs, your house will stink.
Consider yourself warned.
Note: I was not harmed in my effort to bring a valuable lesson to all.

St. Patty's Day!

Did you know.......
  1. St. Patrick was NOT born as Patrick? It is an assumed name.
  2. He was a slave!
  3. There never were snakes in Ireland.
  4. He was beaten, mocked, and despised throughout his life?

To learn more about this amazing man and the history of St. Patrick's Day check out this link to the history channel:

You know those moms whose children stay by their sides while shopping? What about those who are on time, all the time.
I am NOT one of those moms. GRRRRRR.

Kids...

  • On the way to the Jazz game, I informed Grayson and Alora that we would be in a large building with many people and that it was incredibly important to hold hands and stay with Mom and Dan. We picked up Dan from work and headed off. After a few minutes, Dan started saying, "Now, guys, we are going to a place where there will be lots of people." At this point, Grayson quickly interjects (with as much attitude as a 4 year old can have!) , "We know Dad. Mom all ready told us." Trying not to laugh Dan asked, "What did Mom tell you?" "Hold hands, stay together, and don't get lost. We know it."
  • At the game I was going picture crazy! It was our first Jazz game as a family (minus one). As Alora was eating I tried to take a few pictures but she kept moving. Finally she said, "Not now, Mom!! I am trying to eat." (Yes, that picture in the post below is the picture I got when she said it. See the attitude???)
  • Tonight Grayson put his arms on the inside of the door frame, jumped and kicked his hiney. He then told me, "I am doing my stretchers, Mom. I have to do these every day." I asked, "Why, what will happen if you do these everyday?" "I will die."
  • Today I was hanging pictures. Alora found our box of nails and started playing with them. All of a sudden she said, "Whoa! Check it out. What do we have here?"

Gotta love 'em!

More giveaways!

{Lucky you!}
The first 3 people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations: 1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! 2- What I create will be just for you. 3- It'll be done this year. 4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be a picture of myself, or a handmade piece of artwork for your living room. I may bake you something. I don't sew so no luck there. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure! 5- I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 3 people who do the same on your blog. The first 3 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! LETS PLAY!
Goodbye.

Hello.

Alora's waiting place while Dan works on the house. Yes, this is in a cupboard above the double ovens. She loves it. Good thing for Dan! What men think of when Mom is gone.

(Yes, there is all ready clutter.)

Walking with Dinosaurs

Mom and Me time is more than fun. It is essential. Here is a post from Grayson's perspective.

Mom and Me time watching dinosaurs is a dream come true.

They had really big trucks with these pictures on them. We took pictures in front of them.

Sometimes Mom can be fun. We are scary dinosaurs here. I am excited to see them. We walked up big stairs to get to the top floor. Now we have to find our seats. We bought a big, big pretzel and some rootbeer. This is going to be fun.

These are big dinosaurs. They are nice dinosaurs. Good dinosaurs are called herbivores.

These are two boy dinosaurs fighting. They are Torosaurs, NOT Triceratops.

I didn't know why there was a bone under the dinosaurs. Mom said there was a person inside that was driving the dinosaurs. I don't think she knows that the dinosaurs are real.

See, T-Rex's can be nice. She loves her baby.

Not only did we have so much fun, Mom also bought me this cool shirt. It is of Utah Raptors. It is my favorite! We bought one for Alora, too. If it comes again, Mom told Dad that she would make him buy the REALLY good seats for ALL of us!
